QUICK LESSONS:
Remembering one's mortality often; striving for good deeds; avoiding sins; seeking Allah's pleasure in the hereafter .
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that death is an inevitable part of life and should be remembered often. He said to “increase in remembrance of the severer of pleasures”, meaning death. This means that we should remember our mortality and reflect on it regularly so that we can live our lives with purpose and intention. We must remember that this life is temporary, so we must strive to do good deeds in order to gain Allah’s pleasure in the hereafter. Additionally, remembering death can help us stay away from sins as it reminds us of the consequences for our actions when we will stand before Allah on Judgment Day.
