Sacrifice for Others

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) said to Sa'd, "Throw (the arrows)! Let my parents sacrifice their lives for you".

Narrated 'Ali: I never saw the Prophet saying, "Let my parents sacrifice their lives for you," to any man after Sa'd. I heard him saying (to him), "Throw (the arrows)! Let my parents sacrifice their lives for you".
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَقُولُ مَا رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ يُفَدِّي رَجُلاً بَعْدَ سَعْدٍ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ ارْمِ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib and it talks about the Prophet's willingness to sacrifice his parents' lives for someone else. In this hadith, the Prophet was speaking to Sa'd and told him to throw arrows while saying "Let my parents sacrifice their lives for you". This shows that the Prophet was willing to give up something very precious in order to help someone else. It also teaches us that we should be willing to make sacrifices in order to help others. We should be generous with our time, energy, and resources in order to benefit those around us. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that we should always strive towards doing good deeds even if it means sacrificing something of ours.
