Jami at-Tirmidhi 2154 (Book 32, Hadith 22) #27787
Curses for Disobeying God

SUMMARY: This hadith warns against six actions that are cursed by Allah and all the Prophets, which include adding to Allah's Book, denying Allah's Qadar, ruling with tyranny, legalizing what Allah has forbidden and abandoning the Sunnah of the Prophet.

Aishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: " Six are cursed, being cursed by Allah and by every Prophet that came: The one who adds to Allah's Book, the one who denies Allah's Qadar, the one who rules with tyranny by which he honors whom Allah has debased, and he dishonors whom Allah has honored, and the one who legalizes what Allah forbade, and the one from my family who legalizes what Allah forbade, and the abandoner of my Sunnah".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic Law Respectfully, Follow Sunnah Of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) Closely .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against six actions that are cursed by both God and all of His prophets. The first action is adding to God’s book; this means that we should not add any words or ideas to what is written in the Quran as it is perfect as it is. The second action is denying God’s qadar; this means that we should not deny or question anything that has been predetermined by God. The third action is ruling with tyranny; this means that we should not use our power to oppress people who have been honored by God or give honor to those who have been debased by Him. The fourth action is legalizing what has been forbidden by God; this means that we should not make something permissible when it has already been made impermissible in Islam. The fifth action applies specifically to the Prophet’s family members and states they must also abide by Islamic law even if they disagree with it personally. Lastly, the sixth action states one must follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as closely as possible in order for one’s deeds to be accepted in front of Allah SWT on Judgment Day. All these actions are considered sins according to Islam and will be punished accordingly if done without repentance from a person’s heart before their death.
