Dividing Wealth According to Islamic Teachings

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) visited Jabir bin 'Abdullah while he was ill and gave him advice on how to divide his wealth among his children according to the teachings of Allah.

Jabir bin 'Abdullah said: "The Messenger of Allah(S.A.W) came to visit me while I was ill at Banu Salamah. I said : 'O Prophet of Allah(S.A.W)! How shall I divide my wealth among my children?' But he did not say anything to me, until the following was revealed: Allah commands you regarding your children's (inheritance): to the male, a portion equal to that of two females".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the teachings of Allah regarding inheritance and division of wealth among children. According to this hadith, when Jabir bin 'Abdullah was ill, the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) visited him and asked him how he would divide his wealth among his children. The Prophet did not answer immediately but later revealed that Allah commands us to give a portion equal to two females for a male child in terms of inheritance or division of wealth. This means that if there are two sons, they will receive double the amount than one daughter or two daughters will receive together in terms of inheritance or division of wealth from their father's estate according to Islamic teachings.
