Taqwa of Allah & Good Character for Paradise, Mouth & Private Parts for Fire

SUMMARY: People are admitted into Paradise the most due to having taqwa of Allah and good character, while people are admitted into the Fire the most due to their mouth and private parts.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah was asked about that for which people are admitted into Paradise the most, so he said: "Taqwa of Allah, and good character". And he was asked about that for which people are admitted into the Fire the most, and he said: " The mouth and the private parts".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have taqwa/God-consciousness; Have good conduct; Avoid immoral activities such as adultery/premarital sex .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how people can gain entry into either Paradise or Hell. The Prophet Muhammad was asked what would lead people to be admitted into Paradise and he said that it was through having taqwa of Allah and good character. Taqwa is a term used in Islam which means being conscious of God's presence in all aspects of life, as well as being mindful of His commands. It also involves avoiding anything that displeases Him or goes against His teachings. On the other hand, when asked what would lead people to be admitted into Hell, he said it was through their mouth and private parts. This could mean speaking ill about others or engaging in immoral activities such as adultery or premarital sex. Thus this hadith teaches us that we should strive to have taqwa of Allah and good character if we want to gain entry into Paradise, while avoiding any actions which may lead us astray from His path if we want to avoid entering Hellfire.
