Pleasure and Displeasure Not Dependent on Money and Luxury

SUMMARY: Money and luxurious clothes should not be the source of one's pleasure or displeasure.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham of Quantify and Khamisa (ie money and luxurious clothes) perish for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased!"

QUICK LESSONS:
Appreciate what you have without becoming too attached to it .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that money and luxury should not be the source of our pleasure or displeasure. He said, “Let the slave of Dinar and Dirham of Quantify and Khamisa perish for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased!” This means that we should not become too attached to material possessions such as money or luxurious items. We should instead focus on what truly matters in life such as our relationships with others, our faith in God, etc. It is important to remember that true happiness does not come from material possessions but rather from within ourselves. We must learn to appreciate what we have without becoming too attached to it so that we can find true joy in life.
