Sahih al-Bukhari 2880 (Book 56, Hadith 95) #2755
Selfless Service in Battle of Uhud

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the selfless service of two women, Aisha and Um Sulaim, during the battle of Uhud. They were seen carrying water skins to provide water to thirsty people.

Narrated Anas: On the day (of the battle) of Uhud when (some) people retreated and left the Prophet, I saw 'Aisha bint Abu Bakr and Um Sulaim, with their robes tucked up so that the bangles around their ankles were visible hurrying with their water skins (in another narration it is said, "carrying the water skins on their backs"). Then they would pour the water in the mouths of the people, and return to fill the water skins again and came back again to pour water in the mouths of the people.

QUICK LESSONS:
Helping others even if it means putting ourselves at risk or going out our way for them .

EXPLANATIONS:
During the battle of Uhud, two brave women named Aisha and Um Sulaim showed great courage and selflessness by providing water to thirsty people. They carried heavy water skins on their backs and ran back and forth between the battlefield and a nearby well to fill them up with fresh water. Despite being in a dangerous situation, they put others before themselves without any hesitation or fear. This hadith teaches us that we should always be willing to help others even if it means putting ourselves at risk or going out of our way for them. It also shows us that no matter how difficult a situation may be, we can still find ways to make a difference in someone else's life through small acts of kindness like providing them with something as simple as a glass of water.
