Prioritizing the Rights of Others

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to prioritize the rights of others over our own.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: "The Messenger of Allah was brought some milk which was mixed with some water. On his right was a Bedouin and on his left was Abu Bakr. So he drank, then he gave it to the Bedouin and said: 'The right, then the right'." He said: There are narrations on this topic from Ibn 'Abbas, Sahl bin Sa'd, Ibn 'Umar, and 'Abdullah bin Busr. Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

QUICK LESSONS:
Prioritize other people's needs before ours .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about prioritizing the rights of others over our own. It was narrated by Anas bin Malik, who said that the Prophet Muhammad was given a cup of milk and water to drink. He drank from it and then gave it to a Bedouin on his right side, before giving it to Abu Bakr on his left side. This teaches us that we should prioritize other people's rights over our own, even if they are not as close or important as someone else in our lives. We should always strive to be fair and just when dealing with people, no matter their status or relationship with us.

The Prophet Muhammad also taught us that we should not forget about those who are less fortunate than ourselves, such as the Bedouin in this hadith. We should always remember that everyone has equal rights and deserves respect regardless of their social standing or wealth. By prioritizing other people's needs before ours, we can show them kindness and compassion which will benefit both parties in the long run.
