Jami at-Tirmidhi 1805 (Book 25, Hadith 19) #27431
Eating From The Edges Of Food

SUMMARY: Eating from the edges of food is more blessed than eating from its middle.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: That the Prophet said: "Indeed the blessing descends to the middle of the food, so eat from its edges, and do not eat from its middle". Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. It is only known through the narration of 'Ata' bin As-Sa'ib. Shu'bah and Ath-Thawri reported from 'Ata' bin As-Sa'ib. There is something about this topic from Ibn 'Umar.

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat from its edges
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that when we eat food, it is more blessed to eat from the edges rather than the middle. This is because blessings descend to the middle of the food and so by eating from its edges, we are able to receive more blessings. It also teaches us that even in small matters such as this one, we should be mindful of our actions and strive for excellence in all that we do. We should not take any action lightly or without thought as it may have a greater impact than what meets the eye.
