Jami at-Tirmidhi 1803 (Book 25, Hadith 17) #27429
Mindful Eating Habits

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) taught us to be mindful of our food and not to leave it for Shaitan, as well as to finish the dish and not waste any food.

Narrated Anas: "When the Prophet ate, he would lick his three fingers, and he said: 'If one of you drops a piece (of food) then let him remove any harm (dirt) from it and eat it, and do not leave it for Ash-Shaitan'. And he would order us to finish (clean) the dish. And he said: 'Indeed you do not know in which part of your food is the blessing'. Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Gharib Sahih.

QUICK LESSONS:
Lick your fingers after eating; remove dirt from dropped pieces; finish the dish; be grateful for every bite taken

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us many lessons about how we should conduct ourselves in our daily lives. One of these teachings is about mindful eating habits. He advised us to lick our fingers after eating, remove any dirt from dropped pieces of food before consuming them, and finish the dish so that no food is wasted. He also reminded us that we do not know which part of the meal contains blessings from Allah SWT, so it is important to eat all of it with gratitude. This hadith encourages us to be mindful when eating and appreciate all that Allah SWT has given us by being grateful for every bite we take.
