Avoiding Superstitions

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) warned against believing in superstitions such as associating bad luck with certain objects.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: I heard the Prophet saying".Evil omen is in three things: The horse, the woman and the house".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ إِنَّمَا الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلاَثَةٍ فِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to avoid superstitious beliefs, such as believing that certain objects bring bad luck. He said that evil omen is found in three things - horses, women and houses. This means that we should not believe that these things are unlucky or bring bad luck. Instead, we should trust in Allah and His Revelation for guidance and protection from harm. We should also remember that Allah is the Most Merciful and Most Compassionate, so He will always protect us from any harm or misfortune if we put our trust in Him alone.
