Jami at-Tirmidhi 1719 (Book 23, Hadith 53) #27336
The Wealth of Banu An-Nadir

SUMMARY: The wealth of Banu An-Nadir was given to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a reward from Allah, and he used it to provide for his family and to purchase horses and weapons for use in Allah's cause.

Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab: "The wealth of Banu An-Nadir was among the spoils of war which Allah granted upon His Messenger which the Muslims did not gain with the rush of their horses nor camel. So it was purely for the Messenger of Allah , and the Messenger of Allah would set aside a year's worth of expenditure for his family, then he would use what remained of it for horses and weapons to be used in Allah's cause". Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. Sufyan bin 'Uyainah reported this Hadith from Ma'mar, from Ibn Shihab.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the wealth of Banu An Nadir which was given by Allah as a reward to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He used this wealth in two ways; firstly, he provided expenditure for his family with it, and secondly, he purchased horses and weapons with it that were used in Allah’s cause. This hadith teaches us that we should always use our resources wisely; we should not waste them on unnecessary things but rather use them in ways that will benefit us both in this world and the hereafter. It also teaches us that when we are blessed with something from Allah, we should be thankful for it by using it properly according to His commands.
