Reach maturity at a certain age

This hadith talks about the age limit that distinguishes between youth and manhood. It was narrated by Nafi who said that Ibn 'Umar was reviewed before an army when he was fourteen years old, but he wasn't accepted. Later on, when he was fifteen years old, he was accepted into the army. When Nafi narrated this to 'Umar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz, Umar said that this is the limit that distinguishes between youth and manhood. He then wrote to give salaries to whoever reached fifteen years of age. This hadith teaches us that there is a certain age where one can be considered a grown up or an adult in society; it also shows us how important it is for people to be responsible for their actions as they grow older.
