Number of Battles Fought by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The hadith is about Zaid bin Arqam recounting the number of battles Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fought and how many he took part in.

Narrated Abu Ishaq: "I was next to Zaid bin Arqam when he was asked: 'How many battles did the Prophet fight ?' He said: 'Nineteen'. So I said: 'How many battles did you take part in with him ?' he said: 'Seventeen'. I said: 'Which of them was the first?' He said: 'Dhat Al-'''Ushaira' or Al-'Usaira''." Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ كُنْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ كَمْ غَزَا النَّبِيُّ مِنْ غَزْوَةٍ قَالَ تِسْعَ عَشْرَةَ ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ كَمْ غَزَوْتَ أَنْتَ مَعَهُ قَالَ سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ ‏.‏ قُلْتُ أَيَّتُهُنَّ كَانَ أَوَّلَ قَالَ ذَاتُ الْعُشَيْرَاءِ أَوِ الْعُسَيْرَاءِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

This hadith recounts the number of battles that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ fought, which was nineteen. It also mentions that Zaid bin Arqam participated in seventeen out of those nineteen battles, with the first one being Dhat Al-'''Ushaira or Al-'Usaira. This hadith teaches us to be brave and courageous like our beloved prophet ﷺ who never backed down from a fight for justice and truth. He always stood up for what was right even if it meant going into battle against his enemies.
