Jami at-Tirmidhi 1621 (Book 22, Hadith 3) #27234
Jihad and Rewards for Martyrs

SUMMARY: The deeds of those who die while fighting in the cause of Allah are increased and they are secure from the tribulation of the grave. Striving against one's own soul is also a form of jihad.

Narrated Fadalah bin 'Ubaid: That the Messenger of Allah said: "The deeds of everyone who dies are sealed. Except for the one who dies guarding the frontier from the enemy, in the cause of Allah. For indeed his actions are increased for him until the Day of Judgement, and he is secure from the tribulation of the grave". And I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: "The Mujahid is one who strives against his own soul". Abu 'Eisa said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Uqbah bin 'Amir and Jabir. The Hadith is Fadalah is a Hasan Sahih Hadith.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards that await those who fight in the cause of Allah. It explains that when someone dies while fighting for Allah, their deeds will be sealed until Judgement Day and they will be safe from any suffering in their graves. Additionally, it states that even striving against one's own soul is considered a form of jihad. This means that even if someone cannot physically fight on behalf of Allah, they can still strive to do good by resisting temptations or bad habits and thus gain rewards from Him. Furthermore, this hadith encourages people to strive to do good deeds as much as possible since these actions will be rewarded on Judgement Day.
