Permission for Food of People of the Book

SUMMARY: The hadith discusses the permission for the food of the People of the Book.

Another chain with similar narration. This is acted upon according to the people of knowledge regarding the permission for the food of the People of the Book.
قَالَ مَحْمُودٌ وَقَالَ وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ مُرِّيِّ بْنِ قَطَرِيٍّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ مِثْلَهُ ‏.‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنَ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي طَعَامِ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses a permission given to people regarding food. It is said that according to people who have knowledge, it is permissible to eat food from those who are known as ‘People of the Book’. This refers to Jews and Christians, as they follow a religion which has been revealed by God in some form or another. Therefore, it is permissible for Muslims to eat their food if it meets certain criteria such as being Halal and not containing any forbidden ingredients. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us that we should always seek knowledge from reliable sources before making decisions about our lives and actions.
