Jami at-Tirmidhi 1495 (Book 19, Hadith 3) #27089
Following Instructions of the Prophet

SUMMARY: Ali was instructed by the Prophet to slaughter two male sheep, one for himself and one for the Prophet. He followed this instruction and vowed to never leave it.

Narrated Hanash: That 'Ali used to slaughter two male sheep, one for the Prophet and the other for himself. When this was mentioned to him, he said: "He ordered me to" - meaning the Prophet - "So I will never leave it".
