Martyrdom in Unlawful Acquisition

SUMMARY: A person who is killed while trying to acquire another's wealth without right is considered a martyr.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: that the Messenger of Allah said: "If someone tries to get another's wealth without right, and he fights and is killed, then he is a martyr".

QUICK LESSONS:
Do not try to take what does not belong you

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that if someone tries to take something that does not belong to them, and they are killed in the process, then they will be considered a martyr. This means that even though the act of taking something without permission was wrong, their death will still be honored and respected. The Prophet Muhammad is teaching us here that we should not try to take what does not belong to us, but if we do and it results in our death, then we can still be remembered as a martyr. We should also remember that this only applies when someone has been killed while trying to acquire something unlawfully; it does not apply if someone has been killed for any other reason.

The values taught by this hadith are justice and respect for life. It teaches us that even though an act may have been wrong or unlawful, the life of the person who committed it should still be respected and honored. It also teaches us about justice; no matter what crime someone commits or how wrong their actions may have been, they should still receive justice for their death if it occurs due to unlawful acquisition of another's wealth.
