Guidance for Judges

SUMMARY: Allah will provide guidance to those who are forced into a position of judgement.

Anas bin Malik narrated that the Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu Alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever asks for a position as a judge, then he left on his own. And whoever is forced onto it, Allah sends an angel down to him so that he can be correct". (Daif)
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، عَنْ بِلاَلِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ سَأَلَ الْقَضَاءَ وُكِلَ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أُجْبِرَ عَلَيْهِ يُنْزِلُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مَلَكًا فَيُسَدِّدُهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of justice and fairness in decision making. It is narrated by Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said that whoever asks for a position as a judge should be left alone. However, if someone is forced into this role then Allah will send an angel down to help guide them in their decisions. This hadith teaches us that justice and fairness should be upheld at all times and that even if we are not naturally inclined towards it, Allah will provide us with guidance so we can make the right decisions.
