Walking in Front of Funerals

SUMMARY: The Prophet, Abu Bakr and Umar were seen walking in front of a funeral.

Salim narrated that: His father said: "I saw the Prophet, Abu Bakr, and Umar walking in front of the funeral".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ يَمْشُونَ أَمَامَ الْجَنَازَةِ

This shows us that we should always show respect to those who have passed away by attending their funerals and participating in their burial processions. We should also remember to pray for them and ask Allah for mercy on them after they have gone. Additionally, this hadith teaches us about the importance of following the example set by our beloved prophet ﷺ and his companions so that we can be closer to Allah SWT through our actions.
