Jami at-Tirmidhi 896 (Book 9, Hadith 89) #26462
Waiting for Sunrise Disapproved

SUMMARY: Umar bin Al-Khattab was travelling with a group of people and they stopped at Jama. The idolaters wanted to wait until the sun rose before departing, but the Messenger of Allah disagreed. Umar then left before the sun rose.

Amr bin Maimun narrated: "We were halted at Jama when Umar bin Al-Khattab said: 'The idolaters would not depart until the sun had risen and they would say: "Let the sun shine on Thabir" and indeed the Messenger of Allah contradicted them'. So Umar departed before the rising of the sun".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a journey that Umar bin Al-Khattab was taking with a group of people and they stopped at Jama. The idolaters wanted to wait until sunrise before departing from there but the Messenger of Allah disagreed with them. Umar then left before sunrise as an example for others to follow in order to show his disapproval towards waiting for sunrise. This hadith teaches us that we should not be superstitious or believe in any false beliefs such as waiting for sunrise or sunset in order to start something new or important because it is against Islamic teachings and beliefs. We should always trust in Allah's will and timing instead of relying on superstitions or false beliefs when making decisions about our lives and actions.
