SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) warned against seven great destructive sins which are joining others in worship along with Allah, practicing sorcery, killing without a just cause, usury, eating up an orphan's wealth, giving back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting and accusing chaste women.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "Avoid the seven great destructive sins". The people enquire, "O Allah's Messenger ! What are they? "He said, "To join others in worship along with Allah, to practice sorcery, to kill the life which Allah has forbidden except for a just cause, (according to Islamic law), to eat up Riba (usury), to eat up an orphan's wealth, to give back to the enemy and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting, and to accuse, chaste women, who never even think of anything touching chastity and are good believers.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic Law when it comes to taking life; Be honest when dealing with money matters especially when it comes to orphans' wealth; Stand firm during war times even if you feel scared or intimidated by your enemies.

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned against seven great destructive sins. These sins include joining others in worship along with Allah which is considered as shirk or polytheism; practicing sorcery which is using supernatural powers for evil purposes; killing without a just cause according to Islamic law; usury or taking interest on loans; eating up an orphan’s wealth which means taking advantage of orphans who have no one to protect them; giving back to the enemy during war instead of fighting them and fleeing from the battlefield at the time of fighting instead of standing firm and defending your faith. Lastly he warned against accusing chaste women who never even think about anything that would harm their chastity and are good believers. We should all strive to avoid these sins so that we can be successful in this life and hereafter.
