Salat in the Interior of Ka'bah

SUMMARY: The Prophet performed Salat in the interior of the Ka'bah and said Takbir.

Ibn Umar narrated from Bilal: "The Prophet performed Salat in the interior of the Ka'bah". And Ibn Abbas said: "He did not perform Salat in it, but he said the Takbir".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ بِلاَلٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى فِي جَوْفِ الْكَعْبَةِ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ لَمْ يُصَلِّ وَلَكِنَّهُ كَبَّرَ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَالْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَعُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ وَشَيْبَةَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ بِلاَلٍ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ لاَ يَرَوْنَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ بَأْسًا ‏.‏ وَقَالَ مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ لاَ بَأْسَ بِالصَّلاَةِ النَّافِلَةِ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ ‏.‏ وَكَرِهَ أَنْ تُصَلَّى الْمَكْتُوبَةُ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ لاَ بَأْسَ أَنْ تُصَلَّى الْمَكْتُوبَةُ وَالتَّطَوُّعُ فِي الْكَعْبَةِ لأَنَّ حُكْمَ النَّافِلَةِ وَالْمَكْتُوبَةِ فِي الطَّهَارَةِ وَالْقِبْلَةِ سَوَاءٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Prophet Muhammad's practice of performing salat or prayer in the interior of the Ka’bah. It is narrated by two companions, Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas. According to one narration by Bilal, Prophet Muhammad performed salat inside the Ka’bah while according to another narration by Ibn Abbas he did not perform salah but said Takbir instead. This hadith teaches us that we should be devoted to our prayers and worship Allah with utmost sincerity wherever we are. We should also remember that Allah is everywhere so we can pray anywhere at any time as long as our hearts are filled with faith and devotion towards Him.
