Angels Send Salat Upon Fasting People

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that angels send salat upon those who are fasting when others eat in their presence.

Habib bin Zaid said: "I heard a freed slave of ours called Laila narrated from his (Habib's) grandmother Umm Amarah bint Ka'b Al-Ansar, that the Prophet entered upon her and some food was brought to him. He said: 'Eat'. She said: 'I am fasting'. So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Indeed the angels send Salat upon the fasting person when (others) eat in his presence, until they finish'. And perhaps he said: 'Until they have eaten their fill'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respectful towards people observing fasts or other religious practices; Be mindful of one's actions; Fast during Ramadan; Show gratitude towards Allah SWT for His blessings; Follow teachings from Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Habib bin Zaid tells us about a lesson taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. He visited Umm Amarah bint Ka'b Al-Ansar and some food was brought to him. When she said she was fasting, he told her that angels send salat upon those who are fasting when others eat in their presence until they finish eating. This teaches us that we should be mindful of our actions and how it affects those around us, especially if they are observing a fast or any other religious practice. We should be respectful of their beliefs and not do anything to make them uncomfortable or disrupt their practice in any way. Additionally, this hadith also shows us the importance of fasting as it is rewarded even if one is not actively engaging in it themselves but rather witnessing someone else doing so.
