Jami at-Tirmidhi 757 (Book 8, Hadith 76) #26322
The Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that the ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the most beloved to Allah, and even more so than Jihad in Allah's cause.

Ibn Abbas narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: "There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than those ten days". They said: "O Messenger of Allah! Not even Jihad in Allah Cause?" The Messenger of Allah said: "Not even Jihad in Allah's Cause, unless a man were to out with his self and his wealth and not return from that with anything".

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas teaches us that the ten days of Dhul Hijjah are especially beloved to Allah, and even more so than Jihad in His cause. These ten days are a time for Muslims to increase their worship and devotion to God, as well as perform righteous deeds such as charity and fasting. It is important for us to remember that our actions should be done with sincerity and not just for show or reward; this is why the Prophet Muhammad said that even Jihad in Allah's cause would not be accepted unless it was done with one's self and wealth without expecting anything in return. This hadith reminds us of how important it is to strive for righteousness during these special days, no matter what form it takes.
