Fast during the 10th day in remembrance & gratitude towards God's mercy & blessings

The hadith narrated by Ibn Abbas states that the Prophet Muhammad commanded Muslims to fast on the tenth day of the month of Ashura. This is a special day in Islamic history as it marks many important events, such as when Allah saved Musa and his people from Pharaoh, and when Allah accepted Adam's repentance.
