QUICK LESSONS:
Give charity on behalf of those who have passed away

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the benefits of giving charity on behalf of a deceased person. It was narrated by Ikrimah from Ibn Abbas that a man asked the Prophet Muhammad if it would benefit his mother if he gave charity on her behalf after she passed away. The Prophet Muhammad replied in the affirmative and said that it would indeed benefit her. He then asked for witnesses to bear witness to him giving his Makhraf in charity on her behalf. This hadith teaches us that even after someone has passed away, we can still do good deeds and give charity in their name which will be beneficial for them in the afterlife. It also shows us how important it is to have witnesses when doing charitable acts so that they may be recorded and rewarded accordingly.
