Jami at-Tirmidhi 657 (Book 7, Hadith 41) #26222
Charity Not Lawful for Prophet's Family

SUMMARY: Charity is not lawful for the Prophet and his family, and they should not be treated as equals to other people.

Abu Rafi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that : the Messenger of Allah sent a man from Banu Makhzun to collect charity, so he said to Abu Rafi: "Accompany me so that perhaps you may have some of it". So he said: "Not until I ask the Messenger of Allah". So he went to the Prophet to ask him, and he said: "Charity is not lawful for us, and to be the Mawda of a people to be the same as them".

QUICK LESSONS:
Treat everyone equally regardless if they are related or associated with you in any way; Give charity generously; Follow Islamic teachings which emphasize fairness and justice for all people regardless of their status or position in society; Respect others' opinions even if you disagree with them; Be generous towards those who need help; Do good deeds without expecting anything in return; Show kindness towards others no matter what their background may be .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Rafi, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad. In this hadith, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah sent a man from Banu Makhzun to collect charity. When Abu Rafi was asked to accompany him so he could have some of it, he refused until he asked the Messenger of Allah first. The Prophet then said that charity is not lawful for them and they should not be treated as equals to other people. This hadith teaches us that even though charity is an important part of Islam, it does not apply to the family members or close associates of the prophet himself. It also teaches us that we should treat everyone equally regardless if they are related or associated with us in any way. We should never give preferential treatment based on our relationship with someone else because this goes against Islamic teachings which emphasize fairness and justice for all people regardless of their status or position in society.
