Writing a Last Will and Testament

SUMMARY: It is important for Muslims to have their last will and testament written and kept ready.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Messenger said, "It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have your last will written down before you pass away.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith emphasizes the importance of writing a last will and testament for Muslims. A last will is an important document that states how one's possessions should be distributed after death. It is essential to have this document written down so that there are no disputes or misunderstandings among family members after the person has passed away. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that it is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him. This shows us how important it is to make sure our wishes are known before we pass away, so that our loved ones can carry out our wishes in accordance with Islamic law.
