Ask and Your Request Will Be Granted

SUMMARY: The Prophet encourages us to ask Allah for our needs and promises that our requests will be granted.

Abdullah said: "I was prayed and the Prophet, Abu Bakr, and Umar were there, so when I sat, I started off with praising Allah, then sending Salat upon the Prophet, then supplicating for myself. So the Prophet said: 'Ask, your request will be granted, ask, your request will be ranted'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of supplicating to Allah for our needs. It was narrated by Abdullah who said that he was praying with the Prophet Muhammad, Abu Bakr and Umar when he started off by praising Allah and sending salat upon the Prophet. The Prophet then encouraged him to ask for his needs as his request would be granted. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah in prayer and supplication as He is All-Hearing and All-Knowing. He will answer our prayers if we are sincere in asking Him for what we need. We should also remember to thank Him for all His blessings upon us before making any requests of Him.
