Jami at-Tirmidhi 565 (Book 6, Hadith 22) #26130
Prayer Procedure of Salat Al-Khawf

SUMMARY: This hadith explains the prayer procedure of Salat Al-Khawf, which is a prayer performed in times of fear.

Sahl bin Abi Hathmah said about Salat Al-Khawf: "The Imam stands facing the Qiblah while a group of them stand with him, and a group is before the enemy, facing the enemy. He leads them in a Rak'ah, and they perform a bowing by themselves, and they perform two prostrations in their places. Then they go to take the position of the others and the others come (for prayers). He (the Imam) bows for one Rak'ah with them and performs two prostrations with them. That is two for him and one for them, then they perform one bowing and two prostrations".

QUICK LESSONS:
Be prepared to pray even in times of fear or danger; Perform individual prayers without relying on anyone else's actions/words; Respect equality before Allah regardless of position/status in society

EXPLANATIONS:
Salat Al-Khawf is a special type of prayer that is performed when one feels fear or danger. It involves the Imam standing facing the Qiblah while some people stand with him and some face the enemy. The Imam leads them in one Rak’ah and they perform bowing and two prostrations by themselves. Then they switch positions with each other and the Imam bows for one Rak’ah with them and performs two prostrations with them, making it two for him and one for them. This hadith teaches us to be prepared to pray even in times of fear or danger, as it is an important part of our faith as Muslims. We should also remember that we are all equal before Allah regardless of our position or status in society; everyone has to perform their prayers individually without relying on anyone else’s actions or words.
