Eating Dates on the Day of Fitr

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad would have a breakfast of dates on the Day of Fitr before going to the Musalla.

Anas bin Malik narrated: "The Prophet would have a breakfast of dates on the Day of Fitr before leaving for the Musalla".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ حَفْصِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ كَانَ يُفْطِرُ عَلَى تَمَرَاتٍ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad was known for his exemplary behavior and teachings. On the day of Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan and is celebrated with much joy and festivity, he would have a breakfast consisting of dates before leaving for Musalla. This teaches us that even in times of celebration we should not forget to be mindful about our health and nutrition. It also shows us that we should always remember to thank Allah for His blessings by being mindful about how we spend our time and energy during celebrations. We can also learn from this hadith that it is important to take care of ourselves even when celebrating special occasions so that we can enjoy them fully without feeling tired or unwell afterwards.
