Prostrating on Seven Bones

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) instructed people to prostrate on seven bones and not to gather their hair or clothing.

Ibn Abbas narrated: "The Prophet ordered that one prostrate on seven bones and that he not gather his hair nor his garment".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ أُمِرَ النَّبِيُّ أَنْ يَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعَةِ أَعْظُمٍ وَلاَ يَكُفَّ شَعْرَهُ وَلاَ ثِيَابَهُ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the instructions given by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He taught us that when we are in a state of prostration during prayer, we should make sure that our body is properly aligned with seven parts touching the ground. These parts include two hands, two knees and two feet as well as the forehead. Additionally, he also instructed us not to gather our hair or clothing while in this position. This teaches us to be mindful of our posture during prayer and maintain proper decorum while worshipping Allah SWT.
