Jami at-Tirmidhi 134 (Book 1, Hadith 134) #25699
Menstruation is Beyond Control

SUMMARY: Allah's Messenger taught that menstruation is not something that a woman can control.

Aishah narrated: "Allah's Messenger said to me: 'Bring me the Khumrah from the Masjid'. She said: "I said: 'I am menstruating'. He said: 'Indeed your menstruation is not in your hand'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Respect those going through their menstrual cycle and understand their situation without judgement or criticism .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us an important lesson about the natural process of menstruation. It was narrated by Aishah who said that the Prophet Muhammad asked her to bring him a veil from the mosque while she was on her period. When she told him she was menstruating he replied “Indeed your menstruation is not in your hand”. This means that it is beyond our control and we should not feel ashamed or embarrassed about it as it is a natural process for women. We should also be respectful of those who are going through this process and understand their situation without judgement or criticism.
