Permission and Prohibition of Water for Water in Early Islam

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the permission and prohibition of water for water in the early days of Islam.

Ubayy bin Ka'b narrated: "Water is for water,' was only permitted in the beginning of Islam. Then it was prohibited".
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أُبَىِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، قَالَ إِنَّمَا كَانَ الْمَاءُ مِنَ الْمَاءِ رُخْصَةً فِي أَوَّلِ الإِسْلاَمِ ثُمَّ نُهِيَ عَنْهَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the permission and prohibition of water for water in early days of Islam. In the beginning it was allowed but later on it was prohibited. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful with our actions as they can be changed over time according to Islamic teachings. It also teaches us that we should always follow Islamic teachings even if they change over time as Allah knows best what is right and wrong for us. We should not question His decisions or try to find loopholes around them as He knows what is best for us.
