QUICK LESSONS:
Take an oath using the name of God alone and do not make false promises or commitments.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that it is not permissible to swear by anything other than Allah. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “Whoever has to take an oath should swear by Allah or remain silent”. This means that if someone needs to make an oath, they must only use the name of God and no one else. We should remember this when we are making any kind of promise or commitment as it shows our respect for God and His power over all things in the universe. We should also be careful not to make any false promises or commitments as this would be a form of lying which is forbidden in Islam.
