The Power of Tenderness

SUMMARY: Showing tenderness and love to others will result in being shown the same.

Abu Hurairah said; Al-Aqra’ b. Habib saw that the Messenger of Allah was kissing Husain. He said: I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them. The Messenger of Allah said: He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ، أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ وَهُوَ يُقَبِّلُ حُسَيْنًا فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي عَشْرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا بِوَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith, narrated by Abu Hurairah, speaks about the power of tenderness and love. Al-Aqra b. Habib saw that the Prophet Muhammad was kissing his grandson Husain and commented that he had ten children but never kissed any of them. The Prophet responded by saying “He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness”, emphasizing the importance of showing kindness to others in order to receive it back.
