Sunan Abi Dawud 5186 (Book 43, Hadith 414) #25477
Respectful Entry into Someone's Home

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught people to be respectful when entering someone's home by not facing the door directly, but rather the right or left corner.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Busr: When the Messenger of Allah came to some people's door, he did not face it squarely, but faced the right or left corner, and said: Peace be upon you! peace be upon you! That was because there were no curtains on the doors of the house at that time.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show respect when entering someone's house by facing either side of it instead of facing it directly .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about respect and how to enter someone’s home. The Prophet Muhammad PBUH taught us that when we enter someone’s home, we should not face the door directly, but rather face either the right or left corner of it. This is because in those times there were no curtains on doors of houses. By doing this, we show respect for their privacy and space. We should always remember to be respectful when entering someone’s home as it is a sign of good manners and etiquette.
