Forgiveness of Servants

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ taught that one should forgive a servant seventy times daily.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: A man came to the Prophet and asked: Messenger of Allah! how often shall I forgive a servant? He gave no reply, so the man repeated what he had said, but he still kept silence. When he asked a third time, he replied: Forgive him seventy times daily.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show mercy and forgiveness towards others especially those in your service or under your authority .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us the importance of forgiveness and mercy. It is narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar, who was a companion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In this hadith, a man asked the Prophet how often he should forgive his servant. The Prophet replied that he should forgive him seventy times daily. This shows us how important it is to be forgiving and merciful towards others, especially those who are in our service or under our authority. We must remember that Allah is Most Merciful and He expects us to show mercy to others as well. We must also remember that we are all servants of Allah and He forgives us for our mistakes if we sincerely repent for them. Therefore, we must strive to emulate His example by being forgiving towards those around us as well.
