The Power of Mu'awwadhatan

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of reciting the Mu'awwadhatan three times in the morning and evening for protection and guidance.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Khubayb: We went out one rainy and intensely dark night to look for the Messenger of Allah to lead us in prayer, and when we found him, he asked: Have you prayed?, but I did not say anything. So he said: Say, but I did not say anything. He again said: Say, but I did not say anything. He then said: Say. So I said: What am I to say? He said: Say: "Say, He is Allah, One," and al-Mu'awwadhatan three times in the morning and evening; they will serve you for every purpose.

QUICK LESSONS:
Recite "Say He is Allah, One," and al-Mu'awwadhatan three times in the morning and evening

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abdullah ibn Khubayb who went out one night to look for Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to lead them in prayer. When they found him he asked if they had prayed yet but they did not answer. He then told them to recite "Say He is Allah, One" and al-Mu'awwadhatan three times in the morning and evening as it will serve them for every purpose. Al-Mu’awwidhātayn are two short chapters from the Quran which are known as “The Refuge” or “The Protectors” because of their protective power against all kinds of evil. Reciting these two chapters can bring peace into our lives by protecting us from any harm or danger that may come our way. It also serves as a source of guidance when we feel lost or confused about what decision we should make in life. By reciting these two chapters regularly, we can be sure that Allah will always be with us no matter what situation we find ourselves in and provide us with His divine protection and guidance throughout our lives.
