Covering Your Mouth When Yawning

SUMMARY: When yawning, one should cover their mouth to prevent the devil from entering.

Abu Sa’id al-Khudri reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying: When one of you yawns, he should hold his hand over his mouth, for the devil enters.

QUICK LESSONS:
Hold your hand over your mouth when you feel like yawning

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of covering your mouth when you yawn. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when a person yawns, they should hold their hand over their mouth to prevent the devil from entering. This is because it is believed that when a person yawns, the devil can enter them and cause mischief or harm. Therefore, it is important for people to remember this advice and cover their mouths whenever they feel like yawning in order to protect themselves from any potential danger or harm caused by the devil. It also teaches us about being mindful of our actions and how even something as simple as a yawn can have an effect on our spiritual wellbeing if we are not careful.
