The Truth of Dreaming about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: Seeing the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a dream is a sign of truth and not an illusion created by the devil.

Abu Hurairah said : I heard the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) say : He who sees me in a dream will see me when awake or as if he will see me when awake, for the devil does not take my likeness.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَسَيَرَانِي فِي الْيَقَظَةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ أَوْ ‏"‏ لَكَأَنَّمَا رَآنِي فِي الْيَقَظَةِ وَلاَ يَتَمَثَّلُ الشَّيْطَانُ بِي

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah who was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It states that if someone sees him in their dream then it is true and not an illusion created by Satan. This hadith teaches us that we should be careful when interpreting our dreams as sometimes they can be from Allah or from Satan. We should always seek guidance from Allah to interpret our dreams correctly and to make sure that we are on the right path. Furthermore, this hadith also teaches us to have faith in what we see in our dreams as sometimes they can be true visions sent down by Allah himself.
