QUICK LESSONS:
Respect all people regardless of their social status or position in society; Give proper names to those under your care; Follow proper naming conventions when necessary.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of proper naming and how it can affect a person's life. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, forbade giving four specific names to slaves - Aflah, Yasar, Naf and Rabah. These names are associated with success, wealth and profit which could give the wrong impression that slavery is a desirable thing. By prohibiting these names from being given to slaves, the Prophet was teaching us that slavery should not be glorified or seen as something positive but rather it should only exist in extreme cases of necessity or debt repayment. He was also teaching us that everyone deserves respect regardless of their social status or position in society.
