Refrain from searching for other people's faults

This hadith is about the dangers of fault-finding. It warns us that if we search for the faults in other people, it can lead to their corruption or nearly corrupt them. Mu'awiyah heard this from the Messenger of Allah and was benefited by it. AbudDarda' also confirmed this saying that these were words which Mu'awiyah himself heard from the Messenger of Allah. We should be careful not to search for other people's faults as it can have a negative effect on them and our relationship with them. Instead, we should focus on our own shortcomings and strive to improve ourselves so that we may benefit others through our good deeds and actions.
