Sunan Abi Dawud 4701 (Book 42, Hadith 106) #24992
Predestination of Actions

SUMMARY: This hadith is about a dispute between Adam and Moses, in which Adam was able to prove that he was not at fault for his actions as they were predetermined by Allah.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying : Adam and Moses held a disputation. Moses said : Adam you are our father. You deprived us and caused us to come out from Paradise. Adam said : You are Moses Allah chose you for his speech and wrote the Torah for you with his hand. Do you blame me for doing a deed which Allah had decreed that I should do forty year before he created me? So Adam got the better of Moses in argument. Ahmad b. Salih said from 'Amr from Tawus who heard Abu Hurairah.

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in God's plan, Trust His wisdom when faced with difficult situations or disputes

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a dispute between Prophet Adam and Prophet Musa, in which Prophet Musa accused Prophet Adam of causing them to be expelled from Paradise. In response, Prophet Adam argued that his actions were predetermined by Allah forty years before he was even created. As a result, the argument ended with Prophet Adam being victorious over Prophet Musa's accusation. This hadith teaches us an important lesson about predestination; that all our actions are predetermined by Allah and we should not blame ourselves or others for their deeds as they are out of our control. We should also remember to always have faith in God's plan and trust His wisdom when faced with difficult situations or disputes.
