QUICK LESSONS:
Be humble when you are given something great or important like leadership or knowledge; Remain humble even after achieving greatness; Take only what is necessary for you; Do not become arrogant with your position/power; Follow justice & righteousness in all your actions/decisions etc..

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a dream that was seen by Samurah b. Jundub in which he saw four people drinking from a bucket that was hung from the sky. The first person to drink was Abu Bakr who drank only some of it while the other three; Umar, Uthman and Ali drank to their fill. When Ali tried to drink some of it, the bucket became upset and some water spilled on him. This hadith teaches us that we should be humble when we are given something as even if we are given something great or important like leadership or knowledge, we should not take more than what is necessary for us as taking too much can lead to our downfall or failure in achieving our goals. It also teaches us that even if someone has achieved greatness or success they should remain humble and not become arrogant with their position or power as this can lead them astray from their path of righteousness and justice.
