Sunan Abi Dawud 4635 (Book 42, Hadith 40) #24926
Dreams and the Kingdom of Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was grieved when someone reported a dream to him, and he said that Allah will give the kingdom to whom He wills.

Abu Bakrah said: One day the Prophet asked: Which of you had a dream? He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect, but he did not mention the word "disliked". Instead, he said: The Messenger of Allah was grieved about that. He then said: There will be a caliphate on the model of prophecy, then Allah will give the kingdom to whom he wills.

QUICK LESSONS:
Put trust in God, Accept whatever outcome God has planned for you .

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, Abu Bakrah narrates that one day the Prophet asked who among them had a dream. When someone reported their dream, the Prophet was grieved about it. He then said that there will be a caliphate on the model of prophecy and Allah will give His kingdom to whomever He wills. This hadith teaches us that we should not take our dreams too seriously as they are not always accurate or reliable. It also reminds us of Allah's power over all things; only He can decide who is given authority over His kingdom. We must remember to put our trust in Him alone and accept whatever outcome He has planned for us.
