This hadith explains a Quranic verse which states that there is a barrier between people and their desires. Al-Hasan said that this barrier is actually between them and their faith. We should strive to increase our knowledge of Islam so we can better understand how to resist temptation and stay on the right path. Additionally, by strengthening our relationship with Allah through prayer, fasting, charity etc., we will be able to gain more control over ourselves when faced with temptation or difficult situations in life.
