Rejecting Un-Islamic Practices

SUMMARY: Anything that does not belong to the teachings of Islam is rejected.

'A'ishah reported the Messenger of Allah as saying: If any one introduces into this affair of ours anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected. Ibn 'Isa said: The Prophet said: If anyone practices any action in a way other than our practice, it is rejected.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْمَخْرَمِيُّ، وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، رضى الله عنها قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ فِيهِ فَهُوَ رَدٌّ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ ابْنُ عِيسَى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ‏"‏ مَنْ صَنَعَ أَمْرًا عَلَى غَيْرِ أَمْرِنَا فَهُوَ رَدٌّ

This hadith teaches us that any action or practice which does not belong to the teachings of Islam should be rejected. It is important for Muslims to stay true to their faith and reject anything that goes against it. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us this lesson in order for us to remain steadfast in our beliefs and practices. He wanted us to stay away from anything un-Islamic so we can remain on the right path and follow his teachings.
