This hadith is about the importance of washing away dye from one's body. It was narrated by Ammar b. Yasir who came to his family with cracks in his hands and they dyed him with saffron. He then went to Prophet Muhammad and saluted him but he did not return the salutation and instead advised him to go and wash it away from himself. This hadith teaches us that we should take care of our hygiene and cleanliness as it is important for our health as well as for our spiritual wellbeing according to Islamic teachings. We should also be mindful of what we put on our bodies such as dyes or perfumes which can be harmful if used excessively or without caution. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us how much respect Prophet Muhammad showed towards cleanliness even when greeting someone else - he did not return the salutation until Ammar washed off the dye from himself first!
